That really sucks.

I parked at a hardware store today, made sure there were 4 spots on either side. I came back out and sure enough somebody had parked right next to me. No dings, I got lucky.

I did have the misfortune of having my baby towed last night. Cost me 150 bucks. Again, I was lucky and there was no damage.

Call a paintless repair company. Costs around $80.

what makes people park right next to you when there are closer spots?

Dent Wizard took a thumb-sized dent out of the top of my passenger front fender. The car is back to perfect. The dent even hit the body line of the fender. Unbelievable! They have franchises everywhere; check it out.

If the back doors are dented, the repair guy told me it's tougher because the aluminum is harder to get back to shape. That might cost a little more.

Dent Wizard, Dent Buster and other paintless repair places utilize a special FM technology to do their work and the results are terrific. I've had them remove anything from nickel-sized dents all the way up to one the size of a basketball with great results.

What's FM technology you say?

******* MAGIC! That's what!

:D

I had an Acura RSX before this car with $3000.00 worth of hail damage done to it and took it to a paintless dent repair shop in FT Worth TX and they made the car look brand new. Just be sure to ask if they take the time to remove panels and such because some places will drill a small hole in your car in a spot you will not notice it to get to the underside of the dent.
I also try to park my car away from everyone else here at work and one day I noticed a ding from a car parked too close. I was fortunate enough to walk out to my car about 30mins before I needed to leave to get something and I noticed a car was parked too close. I inspected my car and there were no dings at the time. That wasn't the case when I left 30mins later. The next day I placed a note on the car thanking them for the door ding. I haven't heard from them but they also do not park next to me anymore.

I agree with the posts here....it amazes me that no matter where I park, 'someone' will park next to me. This has happened no fewer than 3 time in the month that I've owned my 8. I always look to park far away and there are usually at least 4 or more spaces between me and the next car. Almost EVERY time I come back out, there is a car parked next to me........what intrigues me is that there is still many empty spaces between them and the next closest car. It's like that HAD to park next to me. Hmmmmm, maybe there is some sort of magnetic force that comes into play with our 8's. Or, my other thought is that there are quite a few 'smart alec's (sp?) out there that know why the car is parked where it is and they know that they can get under our skin. As long as I have no damage, I guess it's ok.

If some people see a car taking up multiple spots or obviously parked away from other cars it may cause them to park near (or damage) your car just to **** you off. It offends them, I guess. If I know I won't be long, I'll generally park next to at least one vehicle and hope I return before they do. That way there's less risk of swinging doors than if I leave space on either side.
