I'm getting really tired of seeing "US Shipping Dates" and "US VIN numbers". i'm sorry, but shouldn't these be going into the regional forums? I can't remember the last time that I saw a thread on the General Discussion in relation to Australian news. I'm not saying this because the US are getting their cars before Aus., but because there qare people out there who NEED to find out things before they invest in a $60,000 dollar vehicle. Isn't that what the general discussion is supposed to be about? maybe we should have a new area designated for VIN numbers and shipping dates, but for the moment, can't you please encourage the US members to stop cluttering up the GD with information that only affects American citizens and not the other 5.75 BILLION people? Everyone else uses their regional forums, why can't they? Please help the people still making up their minds get the information that they need and not useless shipping dates.

And Elara, when Aus. shipping dates and VIN numbers come in, I'm not going to post on the GD because I know that people out there don't want to see them, so I'll only post them in the Aus/NZ area because that is where 100% of the people will appreciate the news.

You do have a point. But please note: There is no single U.S. forum. The regions divide up our contry, so any info that affects all americans should go into the general forum.

EX: cars that arrive in Cali (west forum) are headed all over the U.S. crossing many forums. U.S. shipping dates should be posted right where they are. Sorry to rub it in.

Soon all of us worldwide will have our cars, and all of us will have concerns about our cars that will be addressed in the general forum.

I think a better idea, if it were technically possible, would be to limit the forums a person post in by geografic location. That way I would be forced to stay out of the Europe forum.

I recently had a couple of questions that I wanted to ask our British brethren. Under your plan, I would have been forced to ask them in GD or Lounge, where they would have been of little interest to most readers, rather than targetting the intended audience by posting in the European forum.

There are way too many forums as it is...who has time to read through all those....less is better...IMHO I think there should be a

General
For Sale
Wanted to Buy
Virtual Mechanic (stock)
Virtual Mechanic (mods)
and of course an FAQ area.

I would much rather blast through a bunch of message on one or two pages...since I check back daily, then through 12+ forums, where I'm sure to miss something I'm interested in. I should note that i usually just hit the "new posts" link and I get everthing in one page anyway, so that works for me!!

why should US get the General Discussion? My country is divided into states as well ok, maybe you yanks should get 1 regional forum. North American Forum would have all the information relative to North American buyers. That way, the General discussion wouldn't be cluttered up with all the useless crap floating around.

Once everyone gets their cars, i think it'll be a mute point, since mods & repairs, which are a universal issue & fairly independent of location, will be more of an issue.
And yes, if you beat someone at a stoplight today, quite frankly, who cares if you're down under or on top? So why not put all the chit-chat crap in the same place?
I have yet to read anything of value, other than delivery related info, in the discussion or lounge forums. I believe you're making a much bigger issue out of this than it needs to be. Be happy another enthusiast is willing to put up a FREE site for all of us to get info, otherwise our dealers would have us as much in the dark as Mazda does. I thought you guys were tough down there? Stop whining.

well i agree with tommo somewhat,i like the idea of a northamercian [us] forum but i also think he is overreacting because he dosent have to read these and no one has the info hes wanting yet anyway.i personaly like to browse the aussie and other forums just for the other side of the worlds impressions.i ask my self if this country was getting theres first and were posting there vins and dates would i complain, hmmm not!

the point is that we keep Aus. information in the Aus. forum because that is where 100% of it's readers are going to appreciate it. Why can't you keep to yourself, I'm trying to help those who have just joined the forum and are looking for information about the car, not about so-and-so's VIN number.

General Discussion is supposed to be for everyone, a place where everything there has relevence to all others. What the GD has turned into is a Specific Discussion about what is happening with the US-bound RX-8's.

Polease don't go on with "Well when you get information you can start putting it there." WE DON'T WANT TO! We don't see the need to clutter up the forum with jarble that isn't important to US ALL.

oh and Nohrats, we are tough down here, we back you guys up whenever you wanna go shooting and still get bugger all recognition.
