View Full Version : Closing rear doors...
Fab 8 06-26-2003, 07:26 PM Hey guys,
Since the rear doors do not have an external handle, I can foresee that paintwork and the glass will have a lot of fingerprints or worse, scratches from rings etc...any thoughts on a better way to close the rear doors?
pmacwill 06-26-2003, 07:38 PM you use the handle on your front door to close it??
I just bump it lightly with my hip. I would think it would either get closed from the inside or something similiar to how you close your front door. I never use the handle personally

ibfubar2000 06-26-2003, 07:48 PM just keep a towel in your pocket everytime you have someone go with you and take a minute and wipe it clean.

tribal azn2 06-26-2003, 11:02 PM theres a door handle on middle part
You should buy an Accord, but keep a picture of the RX-8 in your pocket. Whenever someone is about to step into the rear seat, flash them the picture of the RX-8, saying "this is the car you are actually stepping into."
akrx8 06-27-2003, 12:54 AM just use the door jamb, front door is open so just grab it from the jamb and close it.no harm done.

norats 06-27-2003, 11:06 AM Open and close the doors for them, kind of like a limo operator...i will give all passengers the scuff mark lecture(re: the door sills), the do not slam lecture, the the no food lecture, & if they dare pull out a lighter, the no smoking lecture. Only thing I won't have to worry about is the lock the doors lecture..cause I have the keyless entry! I wonder why I don't get a lot of passengers? hmmmm?
I'm sorry, but when it comes to other people's cars, other people don't care, so i have to care for them!!
Also, I'll never use the key to enter the car because i hate key marks under the lock.

Donny Boy 06-29-2003, 08:28 AM Solutions:
Take no passengers in the back of the car
Take only passengers who have had their fingernails removed
Take only passengers who wear at least one glove, and on the correct hand (the one touching the door)
Carry a gun for potential offenders
Buy a second RX-8 as a back-up
Charge a hefty fee for all passengers . . . soon you'll be able to buy a new one
Farsyde 06-29-2003, 12:06 PM you forgot one:
lock rx8 in 20 year time delayed vault
Doesnt Michael Jackson wear a glove on one hand.
