Very Long, Very Scenic, VERY COOL Group Drive planned 14 May 05

Gents/Ladies....Ever been to Canada? Wanna go back? Are you ALLOWED to go back?

Come with me as I tag along with a group of Miata owners for their renown 'Circle Tour' of Brittish Columbia. The route will take us from the starting point, in North Vancouver and head north to Squamish, then to Whistler and then hold on as we blast up the Duffy lake road for lunch in Lillooet, the way 'back' will be via Cahce Creek and then down hwy 1 to Lytton.

This would be at LEAST an all-day event. I'd figure we'd have to be up in Van. by 9-9:30 am that morning. I'd guess return time to Seattle/Tacoma to be 9 or 10pm.

The only BAD part I can think of is having to be in a closed-in car.

:D

The Folks at MiataClub.ca are doing the event - I've met with a few of those guys; they are good people.

here's the route, to the best of my knowledge...I think we'd break off, on the way home, to avoid going back thru down-town Vancouver, and head home.

My mother in law lives up there. I might be able to convince the old lady to visit her mom that weekend.

We'll have to see....sounds like real fun!!

The road can be hit and miss this early. Sometimes it has a lot of fine gravel/sand from the winter this early. It shouldn't affect the cars...but it is a Bi@#h on a bike.

If they have cleaned it..or rained a lot...it is a great road.........

Scenery is awesome...nice twisties.........

Be aware. I did this drive prior to my RX-8 purchase (in my old Civic). Beautiful drive, great road (saw an Alfa and a Porche club out there) but watch the speed traps!

Damn, I'm envious! I only wish I'd have seen this thread sooner, I'd have made arrangements to head up there. That looks like fun
