Sooooo....the days are gettin longer and the sun is shining (at least up north). Perhaps those of us in the (north) Seattle area should get together for a little driving enjoyment while our weather holds out. Course I'm up here in Bellingham, and honestly I'm new enough to the area that I don't know many of the scenic and enjoyable roads to travel. So how bout it gang? Anyone up for a get together? Up Mt. Baker? Down the Coast? I dont even care where just as long as the weather is holding out and I can open up tne sunroof.

I'm down for anything. I can say, though, that Mt Baker highway has terrible pavement starting just about where the turns get fun.

I'm down for a day (or even half a day) If someone knows where it can best be spent. I dont know how far the rest of you are, but I'm all the way up north and west. Willing to make a commute if we can get a gang together with a schedule....my only days would be on the weekend...

St Helens is at the south end of the state. There're a lot of goo drives down that way, but it'd be a several hour drive for you to get down there. Hell, it's 3 hours for me, and your about 2.5 hours north of me.

I drove from Salem, OR for the last Mt. Saint Helens run. It was worth it.

On Tuesday I got up to find that the "forecast" called for rain all day. When I went outside in late morning the sun was shining and it was 60+ degrees. Yesterday, the forecast was a bright sun, much like this. :) Set out for work on my motorcycle and found myself in a downpour in Bellevue!
Oh, well. On another topic. I've mentioned it before, I believe, but for those intererested in good driving roads in Washington State, check out http://washington.destinationhighways.com/ (http://washington.destinationhighways.com/)
The book is great, though pricey, and though designed for motorcycle riders is ideal for RX-8 drivers.

Check the "Time for a Drive" thread. Trying to set anything up in existing threads never works well.
