What do you guys think of turn signals on the side view mirrors.

I always liked those on the Mercs I've seen. I find that some light clusters (espicially Nissan) make it hard to see the turn signals. Super bright xenons don't help either!!

So long as they don't have a yellow tint to them...

I don't mind them. Don't care much for them either :)

I hope they flash white over yellow.. nothing a simple painting of the bulb won't fix.. :D

i think that they not only look neat ('cause they're something REALLY new!!), but i also think that they are a great safety option too!!
being able to see someone's left turn signal at night even when the front of thier vehicle is obsructed for whatever reason...

but to compeletly go against the flow here, i hate that "clean" (read VERY PLAIN AND BORING) look that the "sport compact" import guys like...
removing the reflectors, whiting out turn signals, and things like that not (for me) only ruin some of the character of the car (if they're properly placed, like on a 7) but don't add any safety to the car..
for me, turn signals must be amber, brake lights red (obviously), reverse lights white (brighter is better, IMHO), with all the right reflectors...
it makes a huge difference for me (and DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS TOO!! any body that says they're a bad idea just hasn't ever driven at dusk...), and i think they're a super idea...

not much cost would be associated with something liek that, would it??
i mean, the car is pretty damned expensive already, right??

Actually I prefer the lenses of the turn signals to be white, but blink in orange. Just find it nicer myself :)

To each his own. I certainly don't think that Mazda is going to do too much on the extreme side, so I think you'll be fine Wakeech. However, I do like the so-called clean look on occasions. I think it depends on the vehicle and the body color thereof, but it can add character if done properly.

I think their really cool. Much better than them being stuck on the wing or door

I'll chip in this: turn signals placed on the mirrors do wonders for alerting drivers as to your intentions. Good safety feature.

It would be a great feature, now only too get people to use it

I love all the innovative and forward thinking things that Mazda is doing with the RX-8, especially the turn signals on the mirrors. And like was said before, this is a great safety feature as well. Finally, it adds a bit of uniqueness to the RX.

Little touches like this only fuel my interest in the RX-8. I first saw the wing-mirror indicators on Mercedes and thought how cool they were.

Note the side side mirrors on this frontal shot of the red test mule. I can't tell if those thingamablinkies are there or or not or if it's just masked over. In either case I like it! Also note the sunroof. Is it me or do the brake ducts seem longer and almost the same size as the headlamps? The headlamps look more rounded but it could just be the bra covering up the sharp angles much like how an actual bra would cover up the roundness and height of a nipple on a firm breast.

Take a gander at the "masked" license plate location on that picture (Hey Grimace, gimme a highlight ;) ). I wonder if they were testing it there to see how much it will affect cooling...

Why are the side mirrors constructed like that though? From the pic, they appear to be just red pods stuck to the black supports. It looks odd, and not very well integrated. Maybe this was partial masking as well? Or test mule functionality over form.
