i saw a red rx8 today on the 60 going east.. some asian guy was driving it... the car looks so nice in real life. at first i was looking at the car from far away and was thinking to myself "what kind of a car is that?" then as i got closer i found it was a brand new rx-8... i wish i could get my 8 soon.. i drive a celica gt-s right now.. ill probably have to wait a year or two before i can get my 8.

I'm glad youu saw it. I was on the 60 todat too, but missed it. It has to be a pre-production model, but it still must have been hot.

A member on the SoCal RX Club list said he saw a trailer full of 8's yesterday.. Sounds like some peeps are getting there 8's very soon :)

my mom also saw the trailer of rx-8's Of course my mom isnt into cars, but she said she saw "a blue one, yellow, black, silver and a pretty green one." And then proceeded to harass me as to why I hadnt received mine yet if the 8's were in the US already. ;)

Damn I asked my dad if he was transporting any cars for Mazda. Unfortunately he said no.:(

If he was I would've *cough cough* help him load the truck with the RX-8's well maybe after I test drive each car to make sure it was built well....hehe.:D :D

Well in reality is even if he was transporting the RX-8's to the dealers I wouldn't even get to touch them, since I have a full-time(sucky) job.:( :(

hello hello! Ive been looking around the boards and it seems that there are alot of us in Irvine. Both RX8Master and I are from Irvine. If you see us around, give us a wave! We drive a fixed up Desert Silver(kinda a dark silver-tan color) RSX. It was on the cover of Import Tuner.

On the way back from visiting Ibfubar2000 is saw the
red RX-8 with Michigan Manufactures plate. This is an
early pre production mule with lots of miles. Notice the
tape behind the rear windows. Asian guy driving, just like
60 fwy sighting. He was driving fast and blew by me. Took
me several miles to catch up to take this!

yeah we hang out right around Heritage Plaza. ;) we live right across the street! No we dont hang out at Tapioca Express. If we want an asian hang out place we go up to my hometown of Rowland Heights, or we go down to San Gabriel/Montery Park area.

I dunno if we'll be at 7stock. Its the same week as my birthday (9/25) so we might do other stuff instead. ;)

FYI: The guy driving is more than likely the Director of R&D at Mazda North America. If you think there are some rotorheads on this board, talk to some of the guys in R&D within Mazda. The director of R&D and director of the Mazdaspeed program both have ultra clean, show car quality 510's ... a Datsun.... with rotaries :D

There has been a ton of refinement between the pre-production cars and the ones we are getting off the boats. The one Kelvin was driving looks like the early prototype we caught at SevenStock.

Just wanted to give you all some info on the sighting. The transport truck of RX-8's you saw on the 60 freeway was only for promotion and press events. The first container of release RX-8's should be ready for pick up at the end of the month. This is from the grand high mucky mucks at Mazdaspeed, so I'm not sure how accurate the release info is, but the press transport is accurate. Everyone is very excited to be getting these in!
