Apparently there is another recall that I have not heard about. I have had my 8 in to the dealer 2 times in the last 3 weeks (it sucks because I have to drive 1.5 hours to get there rural IA).
Anyway the serivice guy said that Mazda is going to put in a more powerful battery, starter and some other things. If this has been posted let me know where, couldn't find it with the search.

I have been talking to the regional Mazda service rep and he has told me that Mazda is developing a new starter that cranks the engine 30% faster. It is something that they are doing to help the hard cold start issue. At this stage, it is still in development so there is no TSB on it yet but there should be soon. Mine has improved enough with the new battery that i don't think I will go with the experimental starter. I've had enough first model year problems.
