Thumbs down Diamond Plate Floor Mat Review

Ok guys, I'm back from my short leave of posting my awesome reviews. Today my package of diamond plate floor mats came in and I was uber excited. I opend the box , packageing was good everything was taped up and secure. The product looked like it survived.

Ok, Thats about as good as it got its basically down hill from here.

Finish, the products themselves have a good finish but, You know that option of powder coated edges well........ They must have completly forgot to powder coat it. Mine came just bare metal.

Fit, The passenger side floor mat fitment is sorta herendous. It fits but you gotta work it. When it heats back up "summer time" me and my friends will grind it down into perfect fitment.

Drivers side fitment, I must say is much BETTER. 1 problem theres a hook that holds the stock floor mats in, all you have to do is swing the to the left and slide under it for a perfect fit.

Purpose Over looks.

Ok, lets not kid ourselves here this is deffinetly looks over function. They look completly bad ***. the shiny metal really works well with the dark interior. But funcionality wise. I ended up putting the stock mat over the drivers side since its snowy out and hence shifting is almost impossible. But theres an easy fix I put strips of duct tape over where my shifting and braking foot stay and thats fixes grip.

Rateing 3 1/2 stars out of 5

Con's

Semi poor fitment on passenger side.
Slipery when wet!!!
Wheres my powder coat???

Pro's
bad *** looks
Really bad *** looks.
ummm thats basically all there good for, except to prevent wear to the floor boards since its a extra layer of aluminum.

This item is for someone that is always showing there cars in meets or a nice peice for the passenger.

Unless your a diehard mods kinda guy or show your car around or just want something cool and relitvley cheap "$80.00" I wouldn't really suggest these.

But here are the pics i took http://magixpuma.tripod.com/floor/
IF you notice a large gap between the trans tunnel and the mat well thats because thats a 5 inch lift.

I purchased this item from matt at rx8garage.net I still suggest him since he got it to me quickly and he doesnt make them so its not his fault.

I'd take them out, put them on my garage floor for use as a speed bump.
