I realize obsessive is not viewed as a bad word in the show and shine section so I wanted to ask a couple questions.
A bit of history I recently purchased a RX8 (2004 green GT) and ordered the starter kit from Zanio.
1. I clayed my car and learned that you need to flip the bar and remold it quite regularly and you also have to use a bit of force. Once I got the hang of it I could feel the dirt and could apply the right amount of pressure to take care of it in two or three sweeps.
2. I used way too much z2 and z5 on my first application. What do you “pre moisten” the applicator pad with so pad does not wind up sucking up a good bit of polish?
3. I was using way too much z6 and learned to hold the spray bottle further away 18 inches or so.
4. When you put the polish on the car is there a certain technique? I put a dab on the applicator and do one stroke say halfway on the door (horizontally) then I brush up and down (vertically) through my first line and spread out the polish on each pass.
5. I used the leather in a bottle but the edges of the seats appear to be more rubberish then leather, and parts of the doors do not seem too leathery, is there something else to clean these with?
6. What do you use to clean the b-frame (I guess name) that comes down between the two doors?
7. Do you use the tire cleaner on the rubber around the inside gaskets of the doors?
Thanks for your input.
