Hello everyone. I have noticed, unfortunately more than once, that if I shift too quickly (at higher rpm's) from third to fourth gear, I am rewarded with a horrible grind. Has anyone else experienced such a grind under similar circumstances? If this has been covered before, allow me to apologize in advance for rehashing it.
If I hesitate, just a bit, before shifting into 4ht gear, the shift is very smooth. How concerned should I be about the grinds that have already occurred? There have been about five or six. Is that enough to cause significant damage to my transmission? I am worried because when they have occurred, the vehicle has been at high speeds. I don't know if that makes a difference or not regarding the extent of any damage that may be caused by the grind. The grind sounds horrible when it happens. Whenever it occurs, I immediately back off from trying to engage 4th, so it last but a couple of seconds.
Any advice or information about this would be greatly appreciated. Maybe the problem is not with the car but rather with the dumba$$ driver. HOLD ON A MINUTE...........that would be me..................... ;)
