That's spooky because last night I was thinking "better post a picture of the key as the guys will like that"! It's on my list for pics this weekend.

The key fob has three buttons: lock, unlock and boot/trunk in that order from top to bottom. When you lock or unlock the hazzards flash. If you keep pressing one button (say lock) the hazzards keep flashing as it tries to lock the already locked car again. The fob is relatively big and heavy.

Inside there is a flashing red light on the right instrument pod warning that the immobiliser is on when the car is left alone. You can see this best at night.

Just to piss you guys off more we get a colour coded key as a present, bodymatched to the car - should be getting mine soon.

I noticed on Mazda Japan site there were 2 different accesory key fobs. A 4 button and a 2 button and both are remote car starters. Have you seen it yet and could you explain how it works? Thanks! :D

honestly tho, i was hoping it'd come w/ a cooler key, like a big fat one with the fob integrated into it, w/ buttons and all that...like the one on bimmers and vw's. even the new accord has those

but no matter

one thing that bother me, does the starter button standard in RX8? or is it an option?

starter button is an accessory only in japan...for now

oops. i haven't seen the keyfob. i saw a key in one of the promotional videos; looks like any other key. but i think the gift that JSG mentioned is that rotor-shaped color-coded key in the picture. please correct me if i'm wrong :D
