The rear is a dead ringer for a Neon, and the front looks like a blend of all the worst parts of a Monte Carlo and a Cavalier.

I liked the numbers, then I saw the car. Yuk.

...what's to stop them from making it?? you shouldn't be upset, the competition only forces product refinement... it might push the costs up, but refinement none-the-less..

as an aside, i think the only cars which classify as Sport Compacts are compact-sports-sedans, like the EVO, STi and WRX, and the SRT-4, Civic Si (whoop dee doo :p), and Redline Ion would be in the more sportish-compact range.

i don't think it looks that bad, there are far worse cars than this.
in fact, i think this is one GM i actually like.

Well after a few years the weaker cars (cars not being sold as much) will either be discontinued or drastically changed. And I don't think saturn is going to do all that well. I don't even see many saturns on the road anymore.

*snorfle* Am I the only one that regards "Saturn GT" as the ultimate oxymoron?

no, but you're probably the only one who knows what a *snorfle* sounds like ;)

Yes, "Tiburon" means "shark" in Spanish.

Spanish is my first language, so I hate when cars are given Spanish names, because then I have to listen to white boys butcher my native tongue whenever they talk about cars.

The absolute worst car name for this:

Murcielago ("bat", as in a flying mammal)

Listening to a white person attempt to pronounce it is like nails on a chalk board.

but wasn't it the given name of a famed bull (hence why these italian cars have spanish names)?? i thought that's how Lambo chose the names for their cars...

and about the mispronunciation, it kills me to hear poor French, German, English, Japanese, and Cantonese (i seriously get whipped into a blood-lusty death-rage to kill Mike Myers every time i think of Wayne's World... yes, yes i do)... not that i'm always the greatest, but it sooooooo kills me when people don't try, or are just plain ignorant to the fact that they suck at it...

Yeah, but that's not necessarily why Hyundai originally picked the name - outside North America, the car has never been called Tiburon, it's just the Hyundai Coupe. It's only "Tiburon" in the US and Canada. There's also a small town named "Tiburon" in California (just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, near San Francisco). The town might be named after the shark, but the Hyundai might be named after the town! ;)

Yes, "Murcielago" was the name of a famous bull... a SPANISH bull. He (Murcielago) was spared from death because of his bravery in the ring.

I'm just on pins and needles waiting for the Lambo named "Ferdinand"! ;)

yeah i've always wondered about this. why are lambos named after SPANISH bulls? i mean there's no bullfighting in italy right?

speaking of italy, i think the 8 carries a certain pleasant resemblance to some of the old maseratis, mostly the front and the grill. and i love it!

oh and this saturn rice rocket, looks like it's angry

I agree with Chinx. The RX-8 does have a sort of Italian look to it.
