How different looking is the auto gearknob compared to the manual?
I thought they looked the same?

Don't think the manual shift knob will fit the auto...the thread sizes are different. On the other hand you could just go get the rotary shift knob for the auto, which makes much more sense than sticking the manual knob, which has the shift gate map on the top of it, into an auto. Unless you're specifically trying to go for the ricer look, sticking a manual shift knob and shifter boot into an auto. ;) The rotary shifter knob for autos has RX-8 imprinted on top of it, not a shifter gate map.
