TyrellCorpNexus8 11-16-2004, 02:22 AM magparts, I'm in your area. Can you tell me where you got your Red Line and for how much? A quick search of this forum section for "fluid change" turned up a whole bunch of directly relevant threads where we've posted procedures for doing this change. Here's a good sample thread to read: Changing Transmission oil (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=19006&highlight=change+fluid). My recommended procedure is described in there - basically, forget those messy, fiddly pump things and just use a funnel and pour the damn fluid in! :D Regards, Gordon TyrellCorpNexus8 11-16-2004, 06:29 AM I will do my transmission oil change later this week and I've decided to go Gord's "no pump" method. expo1 11-16-2004, 07:10 AM I also did the swap using the “ no pump” method without any problems. I attached the funnel to a piece of clear ˝” plastic hose. For the trans you run the hose through the engine compartment down to the transmission. For the rear I ran the hose through the driver side rear wheel to the fill hole. |
