Hey gang,
I thougth I would ask of any of you opted for the US Model "Appearance Package" that has the front air dam, rear side skirtlets, rear wheel arch extenders and is also capped off with the rear wing ala the 6s models? I was thinking of ordering this, and then at the last minute changed my order to just the basic GT package.

It appears that in Japan, they have a Type-S version RX-8 that appears to have all these goodies on that car too. I can't tell what else if anything it has on it, since I DON'T SPEAK Japaneese. I could also only find 1 picture of the Type-S on the entire Mazda Japan site. Of course the Virtual Garage lets to fiddle with this and other MazdaSpeed goodies, but I was really looking for photos of the car from different angles.

Anyone have other photos of the Type-S other than this one?

I ordered the appearance package for my 8. The rear wing is not included; it's an additional feature of which I opted out. I'd rather have the subtle lip spoiler that comes standard in the Euro 8's. :(

Yeah, I finally ran across the other thread in Media that was called the "Mystery RX-8". In looking at the Mazda Japan website, all that car was is all of the Japanese market options (non-MazdaSpeed Optioins) all on a Black car. It is really a shame that they did it in black for that show car, since it is almost impossible to photograph well inside. The RX looks great in Black, but just hard to tell much about the options in that color. I think I really like the front air dam, not sure that I like the rear wheel fore and aft treatments. The spoiler is a sperate option and I knew that, but I didn't make that clear. I think the spoiler just looks cheap, but I was shocked to see that the subtle body seam for the rear bumper cover nicely tapers up to the rear spoiler line. Man, they must have spent some late nights on this car, it is such a crisp design.

Any other pics other than the Black one is appreciated.

That's all the body kit options stuck on.

The type-S merely means the 250hp version. I think it's roughly equivalent to your GT spec. 18 inch wheels, front fogs, power drivers seat, sport suspension etc.

You could get the body kit on a regular car or a type-S.
