I found a very short and small video, 4sec
This shows how the speed meter illumination brings up when we turn the ignition key on.

Uhmmmm... It doesn't make that noise does it?!! I presume that the 'chime' is part of the video soundtrack and NOT coming from the car. I may have to disconnect the speaker otherwise.

The noise, if actually present, would drive one nuts - like the Intel inside "music".

Are you allowed to say the 'I' word without actually placing a hyperlink to their trademark 'movie/music' on your post? The 'I-Police' will be at your door...

This no doubt comes from the RX-7 which also has a redline beep, it can be very useful as these type of engines tend to redline quite rapidly and without noticing, saves you looking at the gauges which can't be a bad thing!

No, it's not the redline beep that we're referring to. I've heard that in other movies and it's fine. This is the nasty piece of 'music' that plays when the instruments boot up. Is it the car or the video?

i really doubt that piece of music is in there..if it is, then there has to be a music off button....

me neither...and I turned my speakers all the way up because I thought I was going deaf.... Must not have the correct codec.

Must not have the correct codec. Yep, Media Player downloaded and installed some new audio codec when I played that clip. But to answer the original question, the RX-8 I saw at Rev It Up did not make any noise when the igintion was turned on, and the noise on that clip sounds to me like it's been added in - it has no ambience.

I think it's cool for the first time, but if I have to hear that everytime I start the car, then it's a bit annoying.
