Am I blind.. Or are there any easy mods?

hey guys -

I've tried searching for this with no luck. I just got my 8 last week and am interested in some easy mods that might provide some extra HP. Or are there any?

If you just bought your car. What are the first few things you would do to it.

BTW, I'm not a big fan of silly exhausts that sound like farts... even if they add HP.

BTW #2, I don't know a ton about cars. I just love them.. and drive them...

Basically I just got the car so I'm not as flush as I was last week.

Basically simple things that do the car a lot of good. I'm not looking to do anything unreal to the car for the time being.

While the clear corners are as hot as yo mama was last night, I can't see how they help our friend here gain some extra hp. :p

ECU seems to make a slight change. Though I couldn't tell you the first thing about installing one.

cheap HP boosts?

Nothing is cheap about this car when it comes to boosting HP. Then again, nothing really boosts HP much as it is.

Want an inexpensive classy mod? Click my banner, see our stuff, get what is in my avatar...third brake light logo mask.

Air Filter

Will repacing my Air Filter do anything? I remember back in the day when I had one of my first cars. a '77 Mustang II Cobra (BLECH) It was nasty. Anyway, one of the first things I did was replace the air filter to a K&N or the like. This actually helped... any point doing that here?

hey man!! nice to see another vancouverite on the board. i'm sure i've seen you around somewhere.

no, a filter won't do much. an 'easy' mod is the Canzoomer tuning unit, 'cause it's pretty much plug and play, but then there's the whole issue of tuning it etc.

Haven't done myself, but the best mod that I've seen talked about on here seems to be installing the lightened flywheel..... not sure about the #'s though.....

Well here in Australia the car comes std with a space saver tyre. Cost me nada to turf it into the far recesses of the garage and forget about it. Saved bulk weight and made fuel economy go up, cut 2 1/2 sec off my 1/4 mile time, and gave me terrific access to the trunk. Bloody best mod I ever did!!!

2 1/2 seconds off your 1/4 mile time? What do they make tires out of down there? Lead?

yeah, that seems a little extreme. 2 1/2 seconds just from removing your spare tire is a little unheard of. you should take out your passenger seat to shave off another 2 seconds...you'll have a 10 second car!!!

So far out of all the mods I've done to the car, the only one that has given any real noticable power gains were the Lineage Ground kit and Racing Beat Plug wires.. they are realatively cheap and extremely easy to put in.

Cheap horse power = yellow stickers (lots of yellow stickers) Each sticker is a few HP, the bigger the sticker the more HP.

Oh, and cheap interior mods...air fresheners! They can be pretty and smell good too!

Yo, the guy just wanted to know if there were any cheap mods.

No need to be a sarcastic jerk on his thread.
