Guys I need a little advice here.

I had H&R springs on my WRX and they were great!! no bouncing around very smooth ride close to stock ride......great handling. But I'm new on the RX8 and want to get some feed back on what are the best springs out there for alowering the car good enough for looks but not sacrifice the ride quality.

Pics will also be greatly apreciated.

Chris.

How much do you want to lower it?

Not too agresive...I dont want uneven tire wear and rubbing the bumper on humps either.....Just want a little lower and better than stock handling.

The racingbeat lowers the car half an inch and it is 20% stiffer then stock. The H&R are 25-30% stiffer. The eibach's are nice and Lower the car 1.25 inch and has the same stiffness of the raceingbeats.

Be careful though, many people that have lowered their cars more than 1" have run into some strange handling characteristics, and have hit their bumpstops. If you are willing to sacrifice some handling for looks (1'+ drop) then go for it. Otherwise be prepared to cut your bumpstops. The Racing Beat only drop your car about .5" but it specially made to work with the stock shocks. If you are keeping your stock shocks you might want to take a look at the other threads. If you want a substantial lowering of your car, you might want to get the Mazda Speed Shocks with MS Springs. That will drop your car 1.25"+ and give you better handling.

Ummm, my Mazdaspeed springs and shocks did not lower my car 1.25"+

If anything it was about a .75" drop.

But back to the topic, you're probably better off with the Racing Beat springs. H&R, no doubt, makes some quality products (I've had them) but RB is known for their work on Mazdas.

I don't know most people are claiming a 1' to 1.25" drop from the MS Springs & MS Shock package.

Take a look at www.mazdatrix.com for other good exterior stuff as well.

Nabil (rx8club member) and I have the RB springs and sways. We both went to Road Atlanta, and I have been to an Autocross with them + just normal driving and looks...

Honestly, the best $500 to $600 I have ever spent on a car.

I've got the H&R springs fitted on my 8.
I highly recommend it for ride quality with the standard shocks.

H&R quote a 1.0" drop all around, but after having the springs fitted for a week, I suspect it is actually closer to 1.25" front and 1.0" rear.

It is difficult to tell the exact drop from stock since I replaced my stock 18" rims for 19's at around the same time.

The front definitely sits lower though.
