I got my Zaino products today and some 100% cotton Zaino-approved towels (although not the big ones -- will that be a problem?). I have some 303 Aerospace for the tires. I'm just cleaning the exterior this weekend. Anything else in particular I need? Should I get some drying towels?

By the way, stupid question, but what's the best thing to use to get soapy water onto the car?

Get a chamois for drying. Towels are no good.

Don't use a chamois, get an 'Absorber' (much better than a chamois). To get soapy water use a car wash mitt (I use a wool one).

Only cotton towels for drying for me. And only a cotton wash mit. The cotton wash mits seem harder to find. After your done washing and drying your vehicle, make sure you wash your mit and towels.

On the money 6speed!! The "absorber" is awesome. Don't forget to wax your rims. This will greatly reduce brake dust build up.

I haven't tried the "absorber" but for me micro-fiber towels work GREAT!

I completely agree about NOT using a Chamois!

I would also use the Absorber before cotton towels.

But I would use a Waffle Weave Micro Fiber towel before an Absorber. Although the Absorber itself wont scratch, if it picks up a piece of dirt while drying, it can easily cause scratching...the Absorber has no "nap" at all, so there is nowhere for the dirt to hide.

Waffle Weave MF towels have a good "nap" that can give any remaining dirt a place to sink into, thus avoiding scratching/swirls.

Use a good 100% cotton chenille wash mitt or pad for washing.

I would also recommend Microfiber towels for removing wax, but 100% cotton will be ok too.

One more Zaino testamonial. I have about 7 coats on my black 8 now. Last night I got caught in a torential downpour. When I got home I pulled into the garage, thinking how bad it would look in the morning. Went out in the morning to go to the gym a to my disbelief, the car was beautiful. As if I had just "waxed" it. Of course, I did wash it and give it another coat of Z2. Now it doesn't look "waxed". It looks AMAZING.

Maybe I bought the cheap cotton towels, but they ended up leaving lint on the wifes truck while we were drying it - even after two washes of the towels. The waffle weave micro fiber left no discernable trace of lint behind, and it soaked up water pretty good.

I've never heard of the 'Absorber', anyone care to post a link?

And yeah, Zaino really looks nice and seems to have a lot of staying power.

I use nothing but microfiber towels for washing/drying/detailing. They are suppose to be a lot better than cotton. Go to Excel Details (http://www.exceldetail.com/Excelproductspage.html) and check out their towers selections. The price is great and their customer service is excellent.
