you have to be there by 9:30 in the morning to get teched and registered. the first runs will most likely start by 10:30 (depending on the number of people) and you should be able to get in 3-4 runs before lunch break.

you want to get there around 8am.. get teched, walk the course, register..

u get 6 runs.

there are 4 heats

u work 1 heat and run in 2 heat (3 runs each heat) and 1 free heat

IE:

1 RUN
2 WORK
3 RUN
4 FREE

something of that sort..

titaniumgrey, there is areally good book you can read to get the idea of it down. Goto amazon and search for Solo Racing. The first book that comes up.

Other then that check for novice class events in your area. they are extremely helpful and you can always just do it. From what ive seen the people are extremely friendly.

Titanium... auto-x is almost dead here in New England and the north east for the year. Events start in April of next year up at Ft Devens in Ayer, MA... where there'll be plenty of instruction to be had.

Read the book that Shocka is stating, and read this: http://www.tirerack.com/features/solo2/handbook.htm

And think of April. It's a long winter ahead.

he was having alot of trouble following the track in the back section. he got lost on his 2nd and 3rd runs (the 2 runs when he didnt have an instructor with him) and decided that he didnt want to do it any more. We just left. wat was terrible was that he didnt even stay to work. i dont konw if thats a super bad thing, but i felt bad for the other people who had their fun and did what they had to do. On the way home tho, i played alittle cat and mouse with my friend who has the silver bug eye. it was the most fun of the day.
