View Full Version : fuel efficiency report
Yuhki 04-26-2003, 01:35 PM I found some guys who posted their impressions on their rx-8s in Japan.
I picked up the fuel efficiency from those reports.
I think those who posted their impressions are under their running in. So, the below numbers would not be so correct as of now.
case1)
9.4 km/l , total 400km , 1500-3500rpm , expressway + city, 250ps 6MT
case2)
9.3 km/l , total 1000km , 5000rpm , expressway + city
(8 km/l , city area)
(13 km/l , at 110km speed , expressway)
case3)
9.2 km/l , total 479km
case4)
7.6 km/l, total 300km, ? , 250ps 6MT
case5)
10.5 km/l, total 500km, 3500rpm, 250ps 6MT, expressway
case6)
6.3 km/l, 250ps 6MT, city (including traffic jam)
Edit: add case4
Edit: add case5/case6
chenpin 04-26-2003, 01:43 PM Some conversions for you guys:
9.4 km/l = 22.1 mpg, total 400km , 1500-3500rpm , expressway + city area
9.3 km/l = 21.9 mpg, total 1000km , 5000rpm , expressway + city area
(8 km/l = 18.8 mpg, city area)
(13 km/l = 30.6 mpg, at 110km speed , expressway)
9.2 km/l = 21.6 mpg, total 479km
Lensman 04-26-2003, 02:24 PM It's $5 (US) per US Gallon here in the UK folks (£0.80p/litre). Aren't you happy you don't live here!
Alessandro 04-26-2003, 04:46 PM Which gearbox gives these MPG?

There are a lot of BBS in Japan, I found these reports in 2 or 3 of them. But, the most big bbs for the rx-8 is here. :)

Yep, we have narrower roads, permanent gridlock, nowhere to park in our overcrowded cities and expensive fuel. Marvellous!
