I am real close to ordering the chrome wheels since they are doing this 20% off thing, I do hope it is for real. Anyone got any pics on a red 8?

Since no one could post a pic, I'll do it myself. Of course it will look better when they are mounted :D But first they needed a few coats of Zaino.

hadnt seen you post before. i like those rims. here's an older pic (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18156&highlight=dark+chrome) of the wheel by itself. havent seen any on a car myself. the special edition 8 in black cherry has those stock i believe.

you guys remember the poster who said he had new titanium wheels from mazda? he never did post back what he actually had. too embarrassed i think from getting way ripped off on the price:)

Those look sweet!

Be sure to post more pics when they are on the car.

I ordered some SSR Professor's in "Super Black Coat". I expect them to give a similar look.

They are a great looking wheel, particularly with the Rotary Centers! Which I seem to have an extra set of.

This printed care sheet was included in one of the boxes my wheels came in.

Zaino is not a wax, not abrasive, acidic or alkaline(?) so I don't see that it will hurt anything. They sure do look mirror like after the zaino.

Melrx8, how much for the center caps?

Very nice! They'll definitely look sharper than on the yellow IMO.

Gotta busy morning but I will get back to you.

Okay I'm back! Retail is $150.00, bought them from Rosenthal at $116.40, less Mazda Rebate my cost was $93.00. I'll sell them for $73.00. Reason I'm selling is because I bought them for my Dark Chromes (already had them on my OEMs) with the idea of using the OEMs for snow wheels. Another $353.28 for sensors change my mind.

When my order arrived the centers were missing so my dealer install the chrome using my centers from the OEMs. Called Tommy, he found his error, reshipped, and in the meantime I sold the OEM wheels to another club member for autox.

Not bad, did you get the rebate on those?

Sea Ray

The rebate is from Mazda and will probably take some time, but that is why I bought them.

Here they are................of course it had to rain on the way to the dealer to have them installed so ignore the dirty car. Wheels look great!

Those twin big blocks are mighty fuel hungry so I have to save when I can :)

Forgot to add, I even got some guy to buy me lunch today, :D there is $10 I can put towards next years gas.

Hi RotorGeek,

I happen to know the man that knows the man who actually really is the man but won't tell anyone.

Basically it means the best service dept mgr that Mazda has ever seen :)

Now that is called 'brown nosing"!!

They were selling a few of them at Sevenstock.

They are huge, but in hindsight, I really wish that I got one.

Here is a better shot of my 8 with the dark chrome wheels. Sky was very overcast so pic is not real bright. I did post this earlier under pics of my velocit red pics in the lounge.

Love the background, makes it look like it should be in the brochure :D

Sea Ray, Its been a long time and the car is looking great!! The addition of the wheels is good stuff!! I'll need to post pics of my own now that I've made some more improvements. Have your winterized the boat yet? Took mine in last week for detailing and storage. Had a couple "incidents" with it this summer so It'll be interesting to see the bill next spring.

Thanks Anthony, I do like the new look. With the rebate it was easier to get the WAF. For those of you not married, it means "wife acceptance factor." And you don't want to mess around with that :D

Heading down this weekend for the final trip. Oil is changed, boat is cleaned out, except for a few bottles of booze, then I will pickle the engines until next year. Hope your damage is not too expensive.

Next year we do need to try a lake trip/get together. Or better yet go a little further south to the Dragon. I am hooked now.
