Is anyone running 255/35's on 18 inch wheels? If so, do you know what offset the wheels are, and have, or do you know if there are any (a) rubbing, or (b) alignment issues?

I'm considering a set of 4 Dunlop "SuperSport" track tires, UTOGA @ 60 AAA, street/track tires for driver ed events mounted on a set of BBS RGR 18" x 8.5" wheels. TireRack online ordering system seems to imply that the BBS wheels would come in a 49mm offsett for the Rx8. OTOH, the Tirerack data says the rims are pretty light, at @ 18.8lbs per wheel.

Wouldn't an offset -10mm, or @ 40mm put the center line of the tire/wheel combo closer to the stock configuration?

I'm worried about rubbing / clearance issues, front and rear, with the additional +2cm (@ +3/4trs") width per tire.

Thanks
mike

i show that a 255/35/18 will fit with no problems as long as you are using at least an 8.5" wide wheel. the offset would need to have between a 38 and 49mm offset depending on the shape of the spokes. i have several wheels that will fit in these fitment ranges with out any modifications.
