Why drive anything else, when you have a limited slip, traction control, ABS, Digital Stability control and 8 airbags aboard?

sweet. soudn like there no probs. if everythign work out and i can get one i was goin to sue the stock wheels with winter tires on them. just get a good under coating for the car as well. i liek the rx8 as a daily driver / winter car for when the fd is getting over hauled or in storage :)

I have 17K on mine now, also with the Talon package (17" winter wheels and Toyo Garrit HT winter tires). It works very effectively in the snow.

Did you guys have to do anything special to use the 17-inch rims/tires on your RX8? I ask because I've heard that changing tire size sometimes affects the way the onboard electronics work.

I just got my car back from it's 32,000 service interval and it still puts a smile on my face everyday! :D :D :D

As for the subject, I drive my car every day and it runs just fine in the winter conditions. Like others have previously stated, make sure that you have good winter rubber on her.

How much is the Talon package?

Nothing special to use the 17" rims, you have to make sure the offset is right, the tire diameter is roughly equivalent, and that the rims will clear the big front brakes.
No 'electronics' problems like they have in the States, with their tire monitoring system.

Talon did all the footwork, and put a good package together at a good price (around $1600 Can, if I remember right) including shipping to Alberta.

The Garits have the ground up walnut shells in the compound, it's like the ice is already sanded for you!
