Will I be screwed trying to buy in Aug/Sept?

I'm planning on getting my act together and finally buying an 8 here in the next few months (cross your fingers), but I want to know if i'm gonna be screwed because of the timing. It will be the August/September time frame and I'm not even sure if dealerships will have inventory of the car I want. So am I going to have to wait for an '05 until like January or something? It might not be the worst thing to wait longer as i'll be able to have a larger down payment...but the agony i'll go though waiting!!! OHHHH. hehe.

Also, has anyone successfully used the X-Plan (NOT the S-plan) to buy an 8? I can get the X-Plan, but not the S-Plan. I hear they are identical, just Ford vs. Mazda, so in theory, I should be able to use it. Let me know if you have had luck with that.

Just used the X-plan (same plan, different names) today, dealer didn't even ask for my PIN. I had to volunteer it. LOL! I ordered out, might get an '05 but if I don't, oh well, they are almost identical, right?

The X plan and S plans are different.
X is for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury products
S is for Mazda

If you are only able to get a PIN # under the X plan, it cant be used for an 8.

X-plan works for S-plan, because Ford owns 35% of Mazda. This should be moot anyhow since most dealers are willing to sell at invoice anyway, from what I've been reading.

X plan and S plan are the same thing. The HOT ticket is the A plan, much cheaper than invoice, but only available to some FoMoCo employees.
