I just rewarded myself with this baby. 93 Blk/Red touring 33,600 original 100% stock miles and a warranty!! I got it in Texas and drove 1200 miles back to Michigan as smooth as a brand new car.

I figured it was a better deal. I'm going to keep my Pro5 but will sell it in the future if the need arises.

Thats all the pics I have for now. Don't mind the house or the other car, they are the previous owner's.

The last RX7 was one of the best looking cars EVER!!!!!

Beautiful, enjoy it. Drive safely (watch the second turbo coming on in turns or exiting turns--she'll break loose, number one way FD's get wrecked) but fast. Congrats. BTW, read up on the reliability mods and do them, a stock FD is great, but there are a few things that should be done as a matter of course--my list: boost guage, silicone boost and vac lines, AST delete and downpipe (replacing the cat close to the turbo).

Beautiful!

If that's the dark side, then so be it!

That is an absolutely gorgeous FD. As others have said before, it is probably one of the most beautiful cars ever produced.

Congratulations.

Still beautiful even though it's an 11 year old car. Congrats.

Congratulations on your FD! Dark side? Nah. I have always wanted an FD, but even the used ones were pricey, which is why I settled for my RX-8. Good luck with your car bro :).

Welcome to the true side of the force.

Black with red is a rare color combination. I have only scene two others like this.

Now let me introduce you to the other forum to help with technical info and other inspirational efforts you will encounter while owning her.

I looked at the red as a possible color for my white '94, but felt it was a little too much for me. Looks dramatic with your black exterior, though.

Senseny's suggestions are right on in terms of the initial things to do. I'd only add that the rubber connector hoses on the pressurized side of the inlet tract should be replaced now while you're in the mood.

You might also want to think about relocating the battery, since the heat tends to kill 'em quick, and mark that AST (Air Separator Tank) replacement #1 on your list. Take a look too, at the front swaybar mounts. Mazda got a little carried away with lightness on them, they tend to bend and/or crack.

Plenty of other subtle mods to make as you go forward, but in the suspension area, I really like my Eibach springs and Koni yellows, combined with a 245/45-16 tire size (Michelin Pilot Sports).

Its just like my friends FD except with 100,000 fewer miles on it :). That red interior is to die for, I've only seen it in books.

sweet mother of god.

very VERY good buy.

if i had my choice, that would be it, but screw it: who could be particular about a colour for THAT car???

I prefer the fuzzy seats on the R1. www.robrobinette.com has a list of reliability mods. Personally, I'd go for turboback exhaust, a non-sequential conversion, and some kind of engine management. One guy on rx7club blew his motor because he had a few mods on stock engine management. He boosted on a particularly cold day (denser air) and the motor blew when .

How does it ride, by the way?

not everyone has +$12k to spend on newly bought used car... a single isn't absolutely necessary for reliability, and engine management especially not if you don't intend on upping the horsepower very much. it's still fast at 250.

but duh, if anyone could, they would.

amazing find. Like others have said, do some reliability mods and watch the temp/boost gauge. If the car sat for extended periods the coolant seals might be on their way out. And remember: Redline a day keeps the carbon away!

Its part of the chassis code that Mazda uses.

When a new rx7 was designed, they changed the code to reflect the new chassis.

The name RX7 never changed for years (until now) so it is easier to explain what type of RX7 you are rererring to by the code.

The RX8 is actually FE, but since its its not an RX7.....we just call it by it real name.
