Since everyone is showing their 8s, I'm showing mine. I just recently got these European sports mirrors and am really proud of them. They're not the Mazdaspeed mirrors, but they are Mazda OEM part.

The changes so far: wire mesh on oil coolers and condenser, wire mesh on front nose, and Euro sport mirrors.

Did you install them yourself? If yes, what was involved and how hard was it to do?
Also, I suppose these are also adjustable like the original stock ones, right? And have the blueish tint on them...
Do you know if they are heated as well?

OK, so many questions are sufficient (for now :D)

did they come painted? Does the heat function work?

I'm with BIU. I'm not a fan of any of the aftermarket mirrors.

How much? You might choke....$650 painted. I contacted a guy in Switzerland who posted a pict of his friend's. He did the leg work for me through the dealership/painter and I paid him back. I'm sure you can contact someone else in a different country and get a cheaper price. The cost may be due to the exchange rate and import tariff for each country. He scanned the original Mazda accessory price list so it was legit. It was a price I can accept for a "must have now" item.
I could have saved about $130 or so if I chose not to have them painted. I just didn't want the hassel of finding a paint shop here.

The install was simple: remove door panel and unscrew three screws that hold the original mirrors and disconnect the wirings. The annoying thing is the triangular base does not install fully flush with the door. It's not noticable by others except me.

The mirrors are a bit smaller than the original but you get used to them quickly. They are powered and heated. They also have a blue tint to them. The driver side mirror have two surfaces, separated by a visible line. The edge of the mirror give you a wider view. This help to identify blindspots.
I need to measure how far the mirrors stick out compared to the original. I'm thinking 1" further the most.

I like them. As my daughter would say, they look "tight."

BUT for $650...I don't think so.

I can see me telling my wife I want to spend $650 for new rear-view mirrors.

Most of the married men in here will attest to what her response would be...... "What's wrong with the ones on there now?"

Looks great nonetheless....:)

Dont get me wrong i love these mirrors...

but for 650 i would have gotten the Ganador MS mirrors....

but then again these EURO ones does retain the use of heat and power mirrors...

FOr $650, I would rather wait for a replica to come out sooner or later.

I have this mirrors as well, love them!

I was kind of dissapointed with the bulky, unpainted factory mirros so it was a must have for me!

What unpainted mirrors? At least in the US, the factory mirrors are body-colored :D

Tamas (megauo), are these mirrors available through the dealer in Hungary? How much? I might buy a pair this summer but it's likely WAY too expensive. Yes, $650 IS expensive :)

Also, since I have the sport package, the heated mirrors are probably no use since the sport does not have those wires for the heating I think. Wait, you have a car with the sport package as well, right? Could you hook up the mirrors so that they ARE heated?

Yes, they are expensive. But like I said, you could probably get them cheaper in another country. I was already making the guy in Switzerland go out of his way to find the mirrors for me. I would have felt bad if I would have canceled the transaction after all the trouble. I still wanted it though.

As for going directly to the dealership, they wouldn't sell to me. Maybe it's because they don't want the liability of selling to the US market. I did contact a dealer in England (or was it Ireland). They said no, after a two weeks wait.

I'm happy with them and they do look great.

geez they look good but they seem to cost too much! With $650 I could buy a ATI Radeon X800 XT!!
