View Full Version : What defines a luxury car?
Shocka 06-07-2004, 07:07 PM I had an argument with a friend and he claims an RSX is a luxury car on the fact that it is Acura.
I felt that was a stupid statment becuase i see luxury as what comes in a car not just the name. I said his 00 V6 Accord Coupe with Leather, wood trim and such is a luxury car compared to an RSX
What do you guys think?
Is it just a name or what comes in the car? he tried to use clothing as a example but i said clothing doesnt come with the options that cars do
jonnyb 06-07-2004, 07:22 PM does he think the nsx is a luxury car too? haha
to me a luxury car would be like a home on wheels. very roomy, big comfy seats, soft ride, lots of leather and wood, power everthing, and nice sound.
I agree.. luxury definitely is defined by what's in the car as opposed to the make/model.
PhineasFellOff 06-09-2004, 04:15 PM Let me makes this clear and concise for you. Luxury defines a luxury car.
Thank you.
Meowloud 06-09-2004, 04:23 PM Luxury car is defined, to me, as:
- If you can sit with another couple in the back seat and still be able to do Jell-O shooters off of navels.
- When the car sways more than you when you're drunk.
- Anything that smells like a french ho house.
- When you get a manicure, pedicure, and your hair styled on your way to work... and without leaving your car.
- If it has a large heart-shaped jacuzzi.
Now THAT is luxury! :D
PhineasFellOff 06-09-2004, 04:27 PM Meowloud,
That would be a pimp car, not a luxury car.
Morgan 06-09-2004, 04:28 PM hahah, i agree with meowloud...but i also think the car should have a damn sexy male escort in it too :)
ReX_maniac 06-09-2004, 10:27 PM Opulence and exclusivity.
The interior and exterior build quality and materials must be above average and aesthetically tasteful - not just functional.
Mechanically and ergonomically created with no expense spared.
JMHO.
scorp76 06-09-2004, 11:46 PM I think luxury is defined by the maker, especially here in this country where the name/label is important to a lot of people.
BMW, Benz, Jaguar....these are a few examples of luxury.
Acura, Infiniti, Volvo, Saab.....these are examples of luxury-wannabes.
