Im going to be installing a sound system sometime this weekend and was wondering what amp you guys would recommend. Im going to be using 2 10" Pyramid Phase II subs right now since they are free to me. They are rated at 200/400 RMS/Peak.. Thanks for any suggestions.

Would this work?

Alpine MRP-M350 (http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.jsp?c=1&b=g&u=c&catoid=-8865&qp=0367136693670&oid=69339&m=0)

You should look for an amp thats around 400 to 500 watts rms/max..If you are looking for a cheap amp go with like a profile..They are good and cheap..For a good amp you pay about a dollar a watt..So for a cheaper amp (lets say Pyramid) you should look for about lets say a 1000 watts b/c you will get about 500 max or so out of it

That should do the trick..You will just have to run the amp at 2 ohm mono..Its a mono amp anyways so thats not a big deal..Even lets say thats its to much power for your subs now..Keep the gain low and when u plain on getting new subs thats all you will have to buy..Not an amp 2..

nah...Zapco, Crossfire, Soundstream, RF reference series, Alpine...

those will get you the punch and clarity your looking for...unless you are on a tight budget i wouldn't skimp on the amp...a good amp will last you years and give you plenty of superior sound..do it right from the start...

the subs are just a temporary solution since i am going away for the summer and want to have subs in by the time i leave next weekend. They are free to me and thats why i am using them. After i get back in the fall I will be upgrading the subs, probably to JL Audio ones.
