I started my car long enough to move it out of my driveway, and the next day I tried to start it and it wouldn't. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing helped. Had to have it towed 30 miles to the closest Mazda dealership. They said I flooded it by not letting it warm up before shutting it off. They got it started, but does this really happen or are they just feeding me a bunch of s***?

no
it really happens
if you turn the car off cold
It sounds like a classic case of flooding
Which flash level do you have?

didn't you read the manual and the quick tips book that came with the car? did you try the hard start sequence in the manual? hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor and crank for 10 seconds then let the gas pedal up and crank again?

I am not sure if this is going to help you in the future or not, but it does work for me. What I did was when I had to move my car a short distance and shutting it of cold. I would rev the car up to 4k real quick and release the gas pedal and shut the engine off right when the tach starts to fall back down to 0. I am not sure if it will harm the engine or not. I don't do it often, but it's something that seems to work for me.

why not just follow the "short trips" procedure in the quick tips and manual?
