after driving for a little bit i parked and i noticed what seemed like oil on the hood of the car. i cleaned it off and i went in the house, 3 hours later i went out and i noticed the same residue on the car...what could this be?

Could be coming from a hole in your oil cooler. Maybe it is spraying out or something. Is it definetly coming from your car?

I think it is, because after i cleaned it off after driving and went in the house the residue came back a second time. More problems? :eek:

i noticed some oil next to my hood on the wheel well housing, on the opposite side from where i added oil, so i dunno whether this is the same, but i may have seen it too.

This one sounded deja vu, so I searched and sure enough, here is an old thread (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14365&perpage=15&highlight=oil%20hood&pagenumber=1) that discussed the same problem.

I never had the problem myself though...

outside of the hood or inside (engine compartment)


I remember mine had some oil on the hood (outside) when it was in the garage, then I cleaned the garage door opener track which had too much grease on it :D
