Will we be getting the rear fog light? If not I would want to buy it from the dealer if possible. I hate empty spaces where something should go......like that blank switch plate on the dash where trac switch would be if you dont have the traction control!

It depends on where you are from on if you will get the rear foglight. It's been a while so if I am incorrect somebody please correct me, but the rear foglight will only be available in Europe(if at all).

The good news for Canadians is that the pissers are standard equipment on both the GS and GT models. :D

I think somebody in the know previously posted that the rear fog would be a $200 option here in the US. Sadly I will probably pay for it.

Some speculation and rumors about the rear fog light can be found in RX8 Appearance/Body Kits forum (http://www.rx8forum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1750&perpage=15&pagenumber=1)

In response to a query I sent to RX8orders, I was advised the rear fog light will not be avaiable in the USofA. :(

Yep. I have always likened them to the little pop-up thing on R2D2's dome. They typically pop-up and spray the headlights when your lights are on and you engage the windshield wiper fluid.

So they just spray -- no wiper? Seems useless to me:confused: I really like the headlight sprayer/wiper on my Volvo but just spray doesn't sound too effective.

I'm with you RX........if you just "spray" your winshield......whats that gonna do without your windshield wipers. junk.

Nope, no wiper. I can't say that I have found them to be particularly useful in my experience. It does dissolve salt residue off the lights though....

The rear fog light is standard here in the UK.

But that is only because it is required by law!

Not all motoring laws are bad :)

No rear fog-light in the USA? Does that mean that Mazda believes there is no fog in the USA? Very odd item to leave off as the car can have front fog lights.

i'm sure you could get the part on order, and have the dealership install it, or even do it yourself: no need for aftermarket, just go with Genuine Mazda.

I'll have it available when I get by business up and going this summer. I'll be importing all that fun stuff that the UK gets along with other stuff that the USA RX-8s don't get. Trying to work a deal so I can be an authorized Mazdaspeed dealer as well.
