The tall I-6 doesn't even fit, as evidenced by that... um... hood. It depends, if you're talking about cast iron block I-6 vs aluminum block V-8 (like LS1, etc), the I-6 will probably be able to make it up the amount of boost it can handle. Hey, there's a lot of fun and inginuity that goes into such an extreme mod. I, for a while, had a 1972 Super Beetle with a mid-engine 1969 'vette L36 427.... Wasn't exactly street legal, but damn fun on the track! (after some SERIOUS aerodynamics mods to keep it on the ground.) And talk about an eye turner when you fire that thing up!
