Rx-7...but look at this baby
here is she....

Yeah that's the so-called "Supra 7", which is basically an FD with the Supra's 2jz-dte engine. The tall I-6 doesn't even fit, as evidenced by that... um... hood. IMO, using an LS1 or even LT1 makes much more sense, since they actually fit, plus the LS1 is lighter (not sure how heavy the LT1 is).

Why ruin an RX-7 by putting in a piston engine? The thing looks pathetic. Like breeding a race horse with a donkey just to see if it will work. -- you just end up with a FAST A$$

The hood is also one of the ugliest I have ever seen on a 7 IMHO.

There's a reason it's light.. they took half the utility stuff out of the car. Air conditioning, heater, etc... all that stuff is gone, this is a pure race car which is neat :)
But I need a car that can be quick, look elegant and sporty, handle well, and have my amenities :) |

IMO the Rx-7 looks good witout a wing, but that bonnet is ridiculous!

I'd take an RB over just about anything, but the 2JZ commands some serious respect.

A V8 RX-7 will blow the doors off an Inline-6 RX-7.
A 3rd gen RX-7 with a Chevy LT1 V8: |

this is a disgrace...i cant believe u guys are talking about non-rotary powered specs...that silver rx with the chevy v8?what in gods name is that...absloutly destroys the RX-7...not to mention takes the heart out of that car...as for the supra-7...ok good idea..whatever..but 2800lbs? my ass...that thing has to weigh like 3200....stock rx-7 weighs 2800...u do the math..those people shouldnt be driving rx-7's if it doesnt even have a rotary...am i wrong?

A 3rd gen RX-7 with a Chevy LT1 V8: i understand that you like v8 engines, but you can't say that it is hands down a performance upgrade. maybe you don't know how ridiculously, unbelievably fast evos are in japan... they even beat r34s on the track, and they sure as hell aren't v8... |

i can understand major engine transitions from piston car into other piston cars...but would you seriously want to rip out the rotary engine, and put in an engine that barely fits?...i mean you can forget about that 50/50 weight distribution...RX-7's are a different breed of cars..nothing else was made like them

Overcooked. Overdone. Overit.
Keep it ROTARY. |
