Can anyone confirm or deny the logic that if the production of the RX-8 began on Sunday morning, that at the ceremony commemorating the beginning of production, an RX-8 could not have already been 'produced' on the assembly line? The red RX-8 shown in that ceremony must surely be a pre-production line hand-made model as were all of the cars used at Laguna Seca? Yes or no?

Maybe this is for Japan only. Many (most?) japaneese cars have factory tinted backwindows, including honda wagons and sutch like.
I remember sitting in a japaneese spec Impreza WRX STi ProDrive Rally Edition (directly imported from Japan for rally driving) back in 1999 and that had tinted backwindows.
The european WRX STi's I've seen since have not had this tint.

(And yes, it's the greatest rally car ever!) :D *s*

Is that Rx-8 in that picture a different shade of red than what we get here in the states? It looks darker or is it just the lighting? I definately like that darker red though. I'd consider changing my black to that dark of a red.
