Anyone know of reputable installers for a clear bra? In fact, who in NJ has had a clear bra installed on their 8s? Did you use 3M, Venture etc.?

And while we're on this subjcet, what about car covers? I heard the Mazda factory car isn't really that hot. Any recommendations for this?

They are an X-pel certified shop. I got a quote from them for $860 for the nose with the appearance package plus lower hood and front portion of the fenders and mirrors. They said they are going to start using the new 3M Scothgard. I am waiting for another email with more information on the new product.

Not sure if northern jersey is OK, but Monster coatings did 2 of my rx8's so I know they have experience with this car specifically. I have seen othe shops work, and I know these
guys work is far superior. They developed a few cool things for the rear bumper for my 8 since I am in manhattan and paralell park alot.

Don't know about those guys but I did a search on the Xpel website and the Mapleshade guy looked like the most qualified. As far as the price I really don't have anything to compare it to. The cost of labor to install is $350 so the rest of the $860 is the film kit which you can buy from X-pel. So if you do it yourself you can save $350. What I was wondering is if you had the film applied and someone backs into your car at a shopping center will the insurance company pay to have the film reinstalled? If not then springing for the film is a big risk IMO. I'll let you know if I get anymore info from this guy, I hope the price doesn't go any higher.

So you're only doing the hood, fenders and mirrors? The cost for that alone is $190. So if you added $350 to that it doesn't come to $860.

What about doing the bumper, air dam and headlights? For all of them it comes to $590, plus whatever installation charges I guess.

Just off a side note. Called them up and they'll tint the whole car for $199. Your choice of tints.

So JoeRX8ter, you getting the Xpel stuff done?
