I'm not sure if this is old news or not (I've been busy for the last month since my old 1990 Probe was totaled) ... I did a search looking for any other postings, nothing came up so here goes ...
Check this out, I've noticed some new images that Mazda has posted to their RX-8 web site in the gallery section.

TJRX8 02-05-2003, 09:49 PM 1) What are the buttons on the center console of this automatic?
2) I saw one picture of a "start" button aka S200, is there one?

Start button was on RX-Evolve prototype. Is gone now.
3Rotor 02-06-2003, 07:27 AM One of the forum members from Japan said that the start button was a dealer option (in Japan). I don't know if it's true, but interesting. If it is true, it wouldn't take much to get that into the U.S.

1.5 miles North of SR60 on Valrico Road. We need to try to get together when I return from the desert this Summer/Fall. Maybe form a Tampa area RX-8 club (Brandon/Valrico branch).
Cheers from Qatar,
Mark

Sounds good. Hope you're home in time to get your car. I see you ordered Red, I ordered Silver. Which dealer did you order it from?

I probably won't be home. The wife will have the joy. Since I'm buying this car for me, I told her it better have very few miles on it whenever I get home. She better do most of her driving with our 2002 Protege.
I decided to go with the red. Although I was a little leary (cop magnet), I thought, out of all the colors, red best defined the grill and other lines of the car. Silver would have been my second choice - great color, but the wife didn't want want silver - harder to see & fades faster. I somewhat agree, and also there is a lot of silver vehicles out there. Although it was my car, I still have to make her happy with the purchase. Got to sleep in the same bed. ;)
We went with Ferman. Courtesy in Brandon was playing games, at least that particular salesman. He said Courtesy was going to be charging between $2500 & $5000 above retail, and couldn't give us a fixed price. Also I believe he felt we weren't serious when we told him we'll pay in full 100% cash when the car came in. We then went to Ferman, and they originally said $1500 over MSRP. At first we were going to go with that, and then we renegotiated at MSRP with a $2000 non refundable deposit. Since I was sure this was the car I wanted, I didn't mind.
Cheers from Qatar,
Mark

TJRX8 02-12-2003, 09:31 PM Zoomster Mark,
I went with Brandon Mazda with no money down and MSRP. Guess it depended on who you talked to. I went directly to the Internet Manager with 2-3 days of the first pre-order day. Very nice guy by the way, he also ordered one for himself at the same time.
I originally ordered Black, which based on the trim being black (front and rear air dams, side vents etc) I think it will look the best. The whole car will be Black and sleek. I knew it would be a be-otch to keep clean. Silver was my second choice so I went with it. Your "magnet" will look great if the wife takes it easy before you get back :-)
I received my order confirmation from Mazda today along with a bunch of the rest of the guys. cooool!

TJ,
I haven't received a confirmation # yet. I didn't preorder until Jan 20th, so I'm sure it's coming. Dang! It's so hard to be patient.. and I'm only waiting for a confiirmation. Just think of the agony I'll be in waiting till June for the car to be delivered.
Cheers from Qatar,
Mark
