i was looking at the koenigsegg website, and saw this picture come up:

http://www.koenigsegg.se/graphics/startimage_quote_5.jpg

alternatively, you can just click refresh a few times until you get the correct picture, at

http://www.koenigsegg.se

is this true that the koenigsegg is officially the fastest production car in the world at 242 mph? (i don't know as i do not get zero magazine) that sounds reasonable, given that the cc8s has less drag, more power, and less weight than the F1. furthermore, how fast will the new CCR (805 bhp) go? With bugatti out of the top speed race (http://www.autoweek.com/search/search_display.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=carnews&content_code=09770282&Search_Type=STD&Search_ID=1996233&record=5), perhaps the koenigsegg will reign as top speed king for as long as mclaren.

Top Gear tried to replicate this top speed test on their track. They didn't get it to 242mph, but it got to a higher speed on their short track than any other car they tested. They even mentioned that it would be the fastest car they've ever tested. I have the episode on my hard drive, but its too big to share.

Well... Lamboghini topped the F1 with the Diablo GT I believe and then along came the Konigsegg a year later in 2000. So I guess welcome to 4 years ago :p I think the whole thing is kind of silly, limit my car to 155, I don't care but if it gets to 155 in 10 seconds I'd be a happy camper :D

I was trying to get a link to Jeremy Clarkson driving and reviewing the Koenigsegg but all the links seem to be down, I have it on my computer if anyone would like to host it... It's one of the best Topgears ever and the car is truely amazing. It's capable of turning 1.3gs, the F1s lateral acceleration is somewhere around that of a VW GTI and less than the cars you and I drive..

Was that 242 mph a corrected 2 way speed?

Here the McLaren F1 does 243 on the back straight.
http://www.mclarencars.com/content/sections/mainfr/gall.htm
The McLaren F1 came with 'training wheels' for tires on the front, so that after the owner learned the limits and handling traits of the car, the fully cornering potential could be exploited.

Front wheels 17x9, 'training wheel' tire 235/45 17, replaced with 255/40 17

Somehow I doubt koenigsegg, drag number. Maybe it is Cw not Cd.

I'll see what I can come up with, I believe there were only 80 made on the Lambo so info may be tough to come by. Off to search the web...

Here's the deal, the Lambo GT never beat the F1 in top speed. It was the world's fastest production car in 99 but that's on a technicality, because the Mcalren was no longer in production.

The Macca F1 is old and it shows just how good (and expensive) it is/was (there is a NEW one for sale now lol), 12 years old and still nothing better.
