View Full Version : 1976 Lancia Scorpion Rally Car
mxmedina 03-10-2004, 08:30 PM Believe it or not this was my first car ever (non-rally version) 5sp 2 seater, Mid engine with a soft top. I could take corners at high speed and the car handled beautifully. Hope you like. Tell me about your other cars you owned.:D :D :D
jonnyb 03-10-2004, 08:49 PM damn that car is badass. those arent available in the US are they?
mxmedina 03-10-2004, 09:34 PM No they dont make them any more. One can only get a used one if you can find it. Parts are hell to find.
eccles 03-10-2004, 10:55 PM Never heard of the Scorpion. Was it intended to be the successor to the Stratos?

Very nice, I take it you didn't live in the states when you owned it.
mxmedina 03-11-2004, 08:22 PM I owned the car about 21 years ago. I not that old am I Ha Ha Purchased in New York City. The roads and the weather destroys cars. But I manage to had a small accident with it and it was down hill from there. My other car that I owned is a 1984 Porsche 928s, That car rocked!!!
greese 03-11-2004, 08:34 PM i love the 928. You can pick up a decent one used for around 10K these days. Parts and maintenance are a bitch though.
racerdave 03-11-2004, 08:36 PM The Lancia is cool. I've always loved Lancia rally cars:
Especially the 037 with Markku Alen driving...

The Stratos was probably my all-time favorite car as a kid:

And the Delta just performed like a bad-@ss:

But according to my memory, this is a Scorpion:

What your red car looks like to me is the 037 (my all-time fav) which was made from 82-85, not 76.
Not that it matters... it's still cool either way! I've never owned a Lancia :(
:)
mxmedina 03-11-2004, 08:55 PM I actullay owned the 1976 scorpion that looks just like the Montecarlo in your picture,

(Apologies for the image quality - that's actually a photograph of the poster print that I have hanging in my office. :) )
racerdave 03-11-2004, 11:44 PM hehe... I just noticed in the pic of the Delta from my post... check out the spectators stupid enough to stand on the outside of the bend just after the car has passed them.
:D

rloewy 03-15-2004, 05:31 PM How can we have a Lancia rally cars discussion without a mention of the Fulvia?

Bella bella.

Psylence 03-16-2004, 02:08 PM Stratos! Woohoo!
I worship that car! :)
Even though all my friends/family proclaim it as the ugliest car that have clapped eyes on.
Someday I plan on building a replica of the Stratos with either an Alfa V6 or Nissan V6. Although I must admit that the purchase of the RX8 has made me wonder about slinging in a rotary back there ;)
RX8Lover 03-16-2004, 02:23 PM that car looks like it could be a transformer.
