The driver's side airbag? There is a lot of info on the passenger airbag.

yes everyone is getting a letter. i just had my work done today. check this other thread about recall letters and also look in the tech section at the sticky with "tsb's" in the title. that will take you to a page that has all of the Technical Service Bulletins so far and also the 2 recalls are listed there. one is the passenger airbag wiring harness and the other is for the dynamic damper bracket on the transmission. try also doing a search for "recall" that should give you a bunch of threads to read.

Takes 10 minutes to do the wiring installation...have an oil change done at the same time. The car will be happy after that.

Took my car into Hancock Mazda, in Mesquite, TX yesterday. Took them an hour to fix the airbag and change the oil. They offered me a free rental car while I waited. They were very friendly and helpful.

Have you guys noticed if the annoying throw-out bearing rattle on clutch out is still there or not? I thought I heard somebody say the noise went away after the damper was replaced. Would be nice if it were true.

yes, I just received the letter last night. It is a safety recall so everyone will get the letter who's vehicle was produced from 4/10/03 through 1/28/04. I'm not sure if my car is new enough for the L reflash but it might be a good time to ask anyway.

got www.mazdausa.com and sign up on the mymazda thing. once you have signed up check the service section it will list there the recall work that needs to be done. the recalls are within a certain VIN range so maybe you are outside of that range for the bracket but i doubt it.

Got both recalls. Had the service done yesterday. The dealer gave me a Protoge5 sportwagon with 3K miles to drive while they performed the work. Took 4 hours, but they seemed busy so

Protege5...pretty good car. The 8 has definitely spoiled me, missed it after two minutes of drive-time in the Protoge.
