View Full Version : It's a dream
Horse 03-09-2004, 03:40 PM I finally got my RX-8 Monday of last week, Winning Blue Grand Touring GPS/NAV. It is a dream I knew it would be great but she is a dream. I can't wait to take her on the track. It's amazing how much attention it gets even recognition from a driver of a Viper. Sorry but I had to annouce it to the club.
RX-GR8 03-09-2004, 03:51 PM good luck with it. post pictures.
JSE RX-8 03-09-2004, 04:31 PM congrats. i feel the same way with mine. i just picked mine up recently and cant stop thinking about. it is truely a dream lol
93rdcurrent 03-09-2004, 04:42 PM Hell, I picked mine up almost 5 months ago and i still feel that way. I just can't seem to wipe this perma grin off. Oh and congrats.
OBryanRX8 03-09-2004, 04:47 PM i do dream about the the one im getting ready to order frequently and spend every extra minute of my time researching and checking out pics. still havent decided between silver and titanium.
ps congrats i envy all 8 owners. im also trying to get hooked up with a s-plan before i order
TPNova1 03-09-2004, 05:20 PM YOur right, its crazy how many other drivers turn their heads, and all the rubbernecking of people on the street. I just grin, when the shifts are smooth, and the turbine like whine kicks in.

rx-7~rx-8 03-09-2004, 08:21 PM I love RX-8.. but im 16 so i cant buy one yet... i always loved em' and admire rotary's... this morning i was driving to school in front of me a Cadillac Escalad... it made a right turn... at the gas station ... then i look ahead.. Bling Bling... Silver RX-8... this mid-age lady driving it... with a BIG GRiN on her face... she was smiling.. i sure as heck was looking at the car.. as well everyone around... come on if you dont... you got iSSUES...
While driving, my parent's volvo c70 coupe... i get alot of looks... but i dont get it why... some old people in volvo's and bmw's merc's look all snobby and shyt... give a bad look and drive off... i hate those poeple...
you RX-8 owners truly have a awesome car... congrats to all you owners... who have acquired one..

I got my 8 with s-plan pricing...ended up walking out the door paying 25,170...granted I did get a base model MT, but that is all i really wanted/needed and it 's still way way under invoice I've had my car since November and I still look at the Photo Gallery everyday...im sorry to say that there is no cure for your condition...lol

And the Winning Blue Metallic is the fastest 8 :D
Icanrel-8 03-11-2004, 11:04 PM Yeah, man!
It sounds silly, but it's a whole new life now. I zainoed the finish, bonded with the car, and while I drive easy for break-in, just going out my driveway is like rolling a Formula 1 out onto the track. Taking hard turns causes laughter, just listening to that futuristic whine of the rotary is thrilling. Welcome, have fun, be safe! And do post your progress on your project, sounds awesome!
Inconsequential 03-12-2004, 02:47 AM Blue is sweet huh?

D MENAC 7 03-12-2004, 10:53 PM Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gray, Black Red and even the Green are all beutiful from the outside in. Welcome to the club! May you never regret it and don't you forget it.
Don't worry about the horse power, it gets you from point a to point bvery fast.
The gas mileage isn't really an issue, it uses a lot of fuel or a little it all depends upon how you drive it.
Most have said that it matters now what octane, 87 works as well as 92 and all in between.
Flooding? What flooding? A few have, most haven't. I've even done the dreaded start move and stop and it never flooded.
The stock tires will not drive in snow, know this now and plan for the future.
You are presently stuck with the radio it came with, but there are changes coming out every day.
The accessories are expensive but they will come down eventually, it's that way with every new model of a car.
There are improvement mods available, check out Canzoomer's Stage 1, soon to come stage 2, also several systems and intakes.
Love your RX-8, drive it like a banshee or like a Granny, either way you cannot abuse it.
Check your oil every 500 miles or so, it does use a bit, that is normal.
There's little mods to big mods...
Body kits that are still over priced but will drop eventually, also.
Consider getting some clear corner lights, this is by far one of the best looking things to do other than my third brake light RX-8 logo mod. (PM me, I can tell ya how)
Stickers are available for the RX-8 Club through PoLaK along with a few other ones he has.
Ignore the hemi powered pick ups and Dodge Stealth drivers who have something to prove, just drive on and don't give them the benefit of a look.
Show your colors, be proud, we know you will be because we are all just like you, still smiling from each and every time we have gotten behind the wheel of such a beautiful machine we love to call our own.
By the way, love your pics.
(Did I miss any opther big issues guys and gals?)

Ahem . . . I clearly stated the silver is the fastest waaay before you proclaimed blue to be. I had dibs, therefore it must be true! :D
93rdcurrent 03-14-2004, 11:19 PM Try not to have a perma grin on your face if you get pulled over because the police officer may get the wrong idea :D . I've been stuck with this perma grin since 10/20/03.
Inconsequential 03-15-2004, 04:50 AM isnt the perma grin a wonderful thing to have though?
Johnnyrx88 03-06-2008, 06:37 PM Oh yeah! Had my 07 GT for a month now and can't stop grinning and staring at it in the garage. Driving it through the manual gears with my favorite cd blasting has got to be the closest thing to heaven. I LOVE my 8!
TopGear8 03-06-2008, 07:07 PM ^Woah a 4 year old thread...had to go back that far? Couldn't find a more recent one to post in eh?
delhi 03-06-2008, 09:51 PM If you think just looking at it is a dream... wait till you drive it.
Mazdaspeed RX8 ver2 03-06-2008, 10:41 PM ^Woah a 4 year old thread...had to go back that far? Couldn't find a more recent one to post in eh?
exactly what i was thinking... wow.. this is 4 years old...
darn noobs... hahaha
alz0rz 03-06-2008, 10:53 PM well.. the guy atleast searched.. so he won't get flamed for bringing up the fact the 8 is like a dream to drive in a new thread!
Mazdaspeed RX8 ver2 03-06-2008, 10:59 PM but there had to be another thread that was a little bit more recent... :)
Johnnyrx88 03-07-2008, 04:49 PM Wow...I'm sure getting crucified for responding to a 4 yr old thread. Did'nt mean to ruffle any feathers. I'm new to this forum and posting so cut me some slack. By the way, I am a noob to owning the RX8 but not a noob to life. I'm 46 yrs old...Perhaps this is not the site for me.
mike73737 03-07-2008, 06:49 PM Eh, don't sweat it guy. If you think you're getting crucified you should read some of the threads where people ask if the 8 is reliable....or that the gas mileage sucks....

Lol your right Mike. Even I know not to comment on the obvious. Amazing how one can plop down 30k for a car knowing nothing about it.
GameGuy369 03-07-2008, 08:21 PM Lol your right Mike. Even I know not to comment on the obvious. Amazing how one can plop down 30k for a car knowing nothing about it.
Ha, I spent 24k on my RX-8 brand new, and I can tell ya, not only did I know nothing about it, I knew nothing about cars in general. Then I've spent the last year just surfing these forums reading things that I know I'll never do to my car, but only to get a better understanding of things.
I bought my 8 cuz when I test drove it I realized I had never really experienced a car before, I had only been driving them. To this day I still look forward to driving my RX-8 around. It's a whole new ballgame.
Horse 04-14-2008, 03:10 PM I think it's so funny that I haven't been on the forum in over 2 years maybe, and a thread I started 4 years ago pops up. LOL
CarAndDriver 04-14-2008, 03:59 PM Congrats
