I just got my car back from an impound lot after a month and the car wouldnt start because of a dead battery. So a friend jumped my car and it still wouldnt start. :/ I have spark and I have fuel. WHAT CAN IT BE??? :o

 

Sounds flooded. Pull the plugs and follow the DIY in the tech section. Also use the search.

 

I did search and I have tried all the DIY with the exception of pulling the plugs. Ill try that right now. Thanks.

Oh, is it a manual or auto? If manual, then pull start it............18-20mph in 2nd and let clutch out,. Once it catches, don't let it stall....then go for good long drive.
If auto then yeah, pull the plugs, get battery charged, and searchout how to pull the fuel relay de-flood as that is what I would try at this time.

The factory method seems like it will never work and then eventually is does (if you have a battery charger handy). Is your car a 6 speed? Have you tried popping the clutch?

 

It is manual, but I havent tried clutch starting because everyone is at work or school and im only 19 years old -__-

 

What does being 19 have to do with it By 19 I had completed basic training and a deployment.

Is the car on a hill? Get that bitch rolling and pop the clutch.

 

No hills here :/ I live in the valley. Do you guys think it could be the fuel pump or the filter??

Nope....highly unlikely it fuel or filter related, and I for one am not guessing anymore until you figure out a way to do what we suggested.
Like 9k said......if you aren't going to push/pull start it, then make sure you have a couple of good batteries, and it may take more than once of pulling the plugs etc.

If nobody is around to help right now, then use advanced search and start searching for de-flood procedures.

Not trying to be an ***, but there have been several trolls lately asking repetitive questions.

ok so i took out the spark plugs and 3 out of 4 had gas and muck :0

 

Clean them carefully and dry them......or better yet.....go get new ones!

 

so today I cleaned them out and after many tries of cranking and deflooding the engine, it finally turned over but immediately turned off so tomorrow im going to clean them off once again and keep trying.

If i buy new ones wont they just get wet with fuel again??

 

Foot to the floor will turn off the injectors. (trust me)

Turn it over with the sparkplugs out, it will clean most fuel/oil out and spin much quicker.

 

Yeah, he really needs to read some deflooding threads because this could take more than once. He does really need to it with the plugs out until he gets it all out of there.

 

Why don''t people listen Pull start it...it will start without much problem and there is no downside

Then pull start it and when it catches, do NOT let it stall out.

Stealth and I vary slightly on how we would do it if you were not going to pull start it, but either of our methods will work. Pull starting is still the best though.

Of course this all assumes you don't have any other underlying issue.

my car is alive! but now theres a new problem, i have no power steering im going to research a bit.

its happened to me before i had to replace the steering module under the hood next to the battery

 

Theres a DIY for that too... look it up simply 3 wires that need to be soldered.

 

Soldered or just perhaps cleaned. Sometimes just cleaning the connector pins will do it.
After that, then extend the overflow hose off the coolant bottle so it can't overflow onto the connectors.
See the third and fourth picks. Extent that black hose coming from the coolant botttle down below or at least away from the connectors.
