before i went to sleep at about midnight the other night i cought a few minutes of some tuner show on speed where they were working on an rx-8. did anyone else see this?

yeah it is called tuner transformation. they had a red rx8 on there and they did some slight mods. they added a wet nitrous system and bigger brakes and wheels. they didnt do as much as i would have liked to have seen however.

They also added some god-awful graphics package. I really didn't like it, but I suppose they felt they needed to do something to the outside of the car to make it look like they had changed the car in some way. Personally, I don't see the point of changing out the brakes...

The show was crap. There was more fighting then working on the car lol

i caught the entire episode. That guy who was supposedly the master of sport compact racing should have been able to come up with something better than intake, exaust, and nos. i think the fighting was scripted too. it just seemed very unnatural. they must have watched OCC and thought fighting = ratings

I thought the rims were ok that they used
but the show was pretty immature and hard to watch

And the 240 they did on the next one was pretty good, except for the stupid wing.

thats what i was gonna say. i think the whole show is horrible.

that show sucked.

they said "wet nitrous", and they put in a dry system (obviously after they realize the RX-8 has a returnless fuel system which they didn't feel like they should dick with).

they didn't know dick about the car. they took weeks to do nothing. they made up a dyno number. this show is tv rice.

I agree that the show stunk it up, but the owner of the car has been posting on here somewhere. Hasn't put the car through the ringer yet, well not as of a week ago. The 240 was alright but they dissapointed a whole lot of potential viewers with the 8. The only reason OCC is so great is because every guy knows that you always get into it with your dad when you work within two hundred miles of each other. I'd be dead or on death row if my father and I were in their situation and we love each other to death. Back to the subject, the show will not last too long, along with a few other new shows that they are really pushing hard.

I'm just glad to see the RX-8 start appearing in the media as a tuner car.

did anyone else notice that it had the headlight cleaners? doesnt that mean its not an american rx-8?

Tuner transformation (or whatever that dumb show is called) is produced just outside of Toronto, Ontario Canada. Come to think about it, a few of the new shows on SPEED are being produced up here.

I thought the show was so bad, I watched the next episode with a VW GTi.
It sucked too.

The whole "tuner" thing has just completly gone down the Britney Spears highway. I can't imagine how this year's show circuit can be any worse than last year, but it will.

Anyone see MTV's new version of Tuner Transformation...? Its absolutely hilarious and called "Pimp my Ride "... They take a young kid's complete junker and Pimp it out LA ghetto-style to all ends and features a hip-hop rapper as the host.
