View Full Version : interior lights installed!
Mvincent 02-01-2011, 05:17 PM I got the super bright blue LED interior lights from RotaryFX today. I would recommend this company to anyone (even though they already are on the forum) and I plan on using them in the future. the lights were easy to install and look great and got here in 3 days after ordering them. i'll upload pictures once it gets dark out for anyone who's interested.
dondo 02-01-2011, 07:33 PM yeah man those are awesome. i have super white
laythor 02-01-2011, 07:34 PM i've always had good experiences with rotary fx, even before they changed their name :)
dondo 02-01-2011, 07:35 PM ^ me too!
tunerwannab 02-07-2011, 06:20 PM Pics or it didn't happen! jk. I got read lights from rotoryrasp for the footwell, then swapped all the interiors with red led. Looks much better than stock to me.
Mvincent 02-09-2011, 09:33 PM not the best quality but it will have to do i can take daytime pics if anyone wants
paimon.soror 02-09-2011, 09:34 PM Try not taking pics directly of the lights, why dont you stand back a couple of feet with the door ajar
Mvincent 02-10-2011, 12:37 AM i tried but my droid wont bring out any reflecting light from the interior and it just looks like some dots in a black void. i'll see if i can figure it out
makristal 02-10-2011, 01:24 AM Well there's your problem....It's a droid ;-)
Brettly2005 02-16-2011, 01:43 PM I just received my red door, footwell, dome, and map lights from rotary! Do you have a link to a DIY or anything like that to help me? I've never worked with wires and am afraid to start splicing X_X
makristal 02-16-2011, 11:41 PM Why would you need to slice wires? Also, Aipex is probbly one of the best solutions for any lighting needs.
laythor 02-17-2011, 12:03 AM no splicing needed. the covers just pop off and you swap out the standard bulbs for the leds. the leds will only turn on when put in the correct way, so make sure you're checking that they're glowing before snapping the covers back on
Brettly2005 02-17-2011, 02:28 AM I just need to tap into some current wires under the dash. They are meant to turn on and off like the stock lights (unlock or door open). I'm going to attempt to put a switch in too though
laythor 02-17-2011, 08:22 AM ah, footwell lights, i missed that part. yeah, finding the right wire can be a pita
Brettly2005 02-17-2011, 09:44 AM Yep. beginning the process right now. Wish me luck! ill post picks later tonight
makristal 02-17-2011, 12:23 PM There's a couple of the same looking wires. Be careful
Brettly2005 02-18-2011, 03:12 AM Yea I could see that. As of right now my cluster gauge is not working. I'm really hoping I just blew a fuse...
makristal 02-18-2011, 10:45 AM That shouldn't be hard to check.
Brettly2005 02-18-2011, 01:34 PM Not at all, just waiting for my tester. If not a fuse... i see a large bill in my future
makristal 02-18-2011, 06:35 PM Did you cut any wires? And forget to reattach them?
Brettly2005 02-18-2011, 10:55 PM I didnt cut any, just hacked into them with a wire tap or two. My car just died while i was on the freeway. I was able to bump start it back up in time before anything serious, but now im scared. taking it to mazda on monday. ugh
makristal 02-19-2011, 02:05 AM Good luck! That's really shitty that that happened to you. I blew a fuse installing my turn signal LEDs up on the headlights :-o so I know your pain-ish.
Brettly2005 02-19-2011, 02:25 AM Yea it's no fun for sure. Hopefully I don't have to dip too deep into the pockets.
