I had been informed that the timing, ECU setup and configuartion of the Australian RX-8's is different to that of the US, European and Japanese models. This means that the mods most of you talk about will not work over here.

I have just clocked over the 5000km mark on my car and am now in a position to do something with it, (mechanically). I want more straight line speed as this is what I beleive it lacks.

Are there any ideas out there for what the Australian cars can have done to them to get some decent power increases. I had my heart set on a supercharger at low boost (due to the high compression) but from some talk here people seemed to bag that idea due to the downfalls in engine construction.

I look forwad to any input as I need serious answers cause I can't find that many specific to Aust vehicles.

Thanks.

Thanks Michael,

I have already swapped some emails with him about this.
I was just curious whether anyone had actually added things like a CAI or an exhaust and what sort of improvement they got.

I just did not want to waste money on things that did not get improvements.

you could also talk to Ric Shaw on Parramatta Rd. He has developped his own programmable ECU. An obliging and knowledgeable fellow.
