Dave alphapenguin 02-08-2004, 06:23 PM get the acosta motor swap. that would do that job, for about... how much was it? 30k? or was it more than that. I dont remember. JASRX-8 02-08-2004, 08:51 PM would intake header exhasut do the trick? Outlaws eXtreme 02-08-2004, 09:17 PM You would need an entirely new motor to even catch up to a Mustang 2005.... Wrong car you bought if you wanted to "race" other cars... You should have bought the WRX STi or the EVO 8 for an import racer... or could have just bought the Mustang. Apperently you didn't care much for handling or comfort of the ride. JASRX-8 02-08-2004, 09:51 PM well, FYI i dont have the car yet. im still finding information on it. and im not talkinga bout the '05's im talking about the generation before. like 03's.... 93rdcurrent 02-08-2004, 10:36 PM You are talking about modding this car pretty heavily. You would need a turbo, A/F management computer w/aux input for turbo, high output fuel pump, headers/catback/high-flow cat/exhaust, CAI, and an intercooler wouldn't hurt. You could also shoot NOS. There are other considerations and brake/suspension upgrades to think of. Can it be done, HELL YAH. All for the right price of course. It's all money baby. Omicron 02-08-2004, 10:55 PM A lot of money. figure $10,000 for starters. RX8FanMan 02-09-2004, 06:19 PM ahahaha, i tried clickin that "lot" JASRX-8 02-09-2004, 08:39 PM im gonna need a turbo to catch up to a low 14 second car? i am NOT talking about the 2005 models..okay, new question, what would i need to make my car a mid to high 13 second car? mpt_yellowRX8 02-09-2004, 10:42 PM Canzoomers ecu mod seems to be adding this kind of power for the 6 speeds. It's priced pretty good too! $750(usd) I have heard nothing but good about it and am planning on getting one soon just for fun. Still, to outrun a gt will take skill and probably a little more money. But, Iwould have one had my ac compressor not gotten trashed by a rock. No, they're not covered, even if the car is less than a month old. zoom44 02-09-2004, 10:52 PM it'll take those 6cyl mustangs now. mpt_yellowRX8 02-09-2004, 11:06 PM Actually, now that I think about it. My friend owns a 2004 GT that i think of as stock. It does however have a new magnaflow exhaust, drop-in K&N, and performance chip in it. So my assumption was given a little too quick. It will probably hold its own, but the CZ Stage 1 is giving the car the numbers that you are looking for, and with a new exhaust and intake you will kill them. It will get you pretty close to the performance you are looking for. mpt_yellowRX8 02-10-2004, 11:29 AM Thanks for the update on the price. I haven't been in touch with Maurice for a month, so I'm out of the loop. Red Devil 02-10-2004, 04:18 PM A Stage 1 should definitely be enough to run with an '03 GT. Obviously, going after the Cobra is where it will take a hefty investment. |
