View Full Version : Put deposit down for my 8
sadams21 02-07-2004, 04:44 PM After months of browsing through this site, I finally put a deposit down for a 8 and became a member today. I went through a dealership that offered me tires for life. They didn't have the exact 8 I wanted, so they are going to pick up a auto winning blue 8 w/ sports package and rear spoiler from a dealership I went to a couple of weeks ago. I was told it should be ready to be picked up by the middle of next week. Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone.
rx8gator 02-07-2004, 04:53 PM Congrats. Even after reading about everyone's complaints, yoou see that we are just passionate and want the 8 to be perfect. Get ready for compliments on the road. You will get many!
Congrats! you will truly love this car. Are you sure you want the auto, did you at least give the 6 M.T. a try. You know there is quite a bit of performance and H.P. difference!
sadams21 02-07-2004, 05:48 PM I test drove the auto and the manual. I loved them both, but in the end the auto was a better choice for me since I live in the city. I just thought the manual would be a hassle in the city traffic.
Tirxer 02-07-2004, 05:59 PM ditto!
jniamehr 02-08-2004, 11:15 AM Your very lucky, my dealer is playing games with me, and trying to convince me to take the RX-8 which he has off the lot (exact specs diff color) and I want the color that I want, and Im trying to get him to do a dealership swap, but hes being a jerk and giving me the run-around... The other dealership (which they actually do, do swaps with) has the color I want with the same specs...
FirstSpin 02-08-2004, 11:24 AM This may be obvious, but tell the guy if he doesn't do the swap, you'll buy from the other dealer. :)
Texas 8 02-08-2004, 11:29 AM Congrats!!
sunlightred8 02-08-2004, 02:18 PM bro, when you get your 8 from that other dealer or w/e, not sure if Im late or not, but DO NOT HAVE THEM DRIVE IT THERE. thats if you dont mind the extra miles they put on it.
but when they do a dealer trade...most of the time the vehicle will be driven, not towed.
jniamehr 02-08-2004, 02:34 PM I dont see a problem as to it being driven so long as the guy whos driven it wont rev up the engine to high (because we all want it broken in properly) hell if he will take good care of it, he will be breaking in the engine, so we can all do what we really want to do ;-)
sunlightred8 02-08-2004, 03:02 PM very true, but Id rather break in MY car from mile 1....just me though

you posted earlier
'told him that a dealer a bit farther gave me that quote, and I told the salesmen Im here for a price BEATING not a match or anything else but literally a BEATING'
the dealer that has the car you want isn't the dealer you lied about to your current dealer is it? Maybe they're calling your bluff.
jniamehr 02-08-2004, 10:01 PM No its not the same dealership i lied about... lol... its a dealership they actually do swaps with regularly....
sadams21 02-08-2004, 10:20 PM bro, when you get your 8 from that other dealer or w/e, not sure if Im late or not, but DO NOT HAVE THEM DRIVE IT THERE
The dealer has already agreed to put it on a truck when they go to get the car. I made sure to let them know I didnt want anyone else driving it.
