Ok so im after an access port and someone has offered me theres but im sure I read somewhere once its used on a vehicle for any function then it wont work on another is this true and if I buy the second hand unit will it basically be a lemon.

 

It must be uninstalled from the prior vehicle. If that is done then it will work on the next owners vehicle.

 

Un-true, The Accessport is mirrored to the vehicle. However, it can be un-mirrored and used on a totally different vehicle. The question to ask the seller is if he broke that link to his car.

 

Is that a setting on the cobb or does all maps have to be reversed for it to un-mirrored.

by "uninstalling", we don't mean just unplugging it from the car though, the user must have the AP plugged into the car and use the "uninstall" feature to un-mate the AP to that particular PCM thereby removing the custom AP map and reflashing the car with the stored map. (usually the OEM mazda map that was replaced when the AP custom map was installed)

If that is done, you can then use the AP on your car.

 

Cool ive emailed the guy saying everything you guys have told me so I just have to wait and see.

I would go new but the unit is dearer for us in the EU even from Mazda Maniac and lucky us in the UK have to pay tax at 20% on all stuff coming in.
