This is a thread created to offset Anijo’s monthly partisan post of what he considers to be racing. I believe that all fun things in cars have a place in motorsport including my personal favorite: tractor pulls. The following is a rough schedule of the remaining drag and drifting events for 2010.
DRIFT:
Sunday – 9/5 – NWR SCCA Drifting
Sunday – 10/17 – NWR SCCA Drifting
Firday – 8/13 – Evergreen Drift NW ProAm Championship – Round #4*
Sunday – 8/22 – Open Drift
Friday – 9/3 – Evergreen Drift NW ProAm Championship – Finale at the Fair*
Friday – 9/24 – Open Drift
*not a driving event unless you plan on participating in the ProAm Championship.
Cost:
NWR events are $60 for SCCA members and $75 for non-members – Passengers are permitted
Evergreen open drift events are $80

DRAG:
Wednesday – 7/21 – Test and Tune – Gates open at 4pm
Wednesday – 7/28 – Test and Tune – Gates open at 4pm
Friday – 7/30 – Test and Tune and Jr Dragsters *– Gates open at 4pm
Wednesday – 8/4 – Test and Tune – Gates open at 4pm
Friday – 8/6 – Test and Tune and Jr Dragsters* – Gates open at 4pm
Wednesday – 8/11 – Test and Tune – Gates open at 4pm
Wednesday – 8/13 – Test and Tune and Jr Dragsters* - Gates open at 4pm
*Jr Dragsters are exactly what they sound like, little kids in miniature rail cars running the 1/8th mile. But in that sense they just take up track time and prevent people from running. In most cases for people that are doing actual “tuning” it won’t matter much, but for those who are just looking to test without the tuning, it just eats up track time.
Cost is $30 per event and a yearly fee of $10 for a “competition number”, I have not found where it is written if passengers are allowed. I will have to call to find out. If the rules haven’t changed, you don’t need a helmet for a car slower than 13.99 on the 1/4th mile and passengers are allowed. I will call and confirm if people are interested in going.

I have a request for And1Kidd to create a thread about the remaining shows in the NW for 2010? I googled briefly and only found one more show in August in the BC area which is a combo drift/show event.
